I feel sorry for the students
This spring was cold and crappy. Right up through finals, there was always that biting wind. VEISHEA was cold and rainy. The only really nice days that I remember this fall on campus were in the few weeks in late March/early April. Well, what happens after finals week? Monday and Tuesday are the two nicest days on campus of the spring. Campus looks as good as it will all year with the trees blooming. Too bad most of the students aren't here to see it after enduring that crappy spring.

Re: I feel sorry for the students
I'd prefer its nice now when I can actually enjoy it as opposed to be stuck doing crap for school.

Re: I feel sorry for the students
I enjoy the "crappy" weather. I can't stand when temps get above 85 and humidity gets above 70%.

Re: I feel sorry for the students
I would have enjoyed more sunshine, but the overall temperature was perfect for me the past few weeks (with a few exceptions). If I could have had 60-65 and sunny, that would have been perfect. I just can't stand overcast weather, especially if it doesn't rain. The clouds can either rain or get the f*ck out, as far as I'm concerned.

The weather is god's way of punishing the students for not coming to more basketball games! -
Re: I feel sorry for the students
I feel bad for the students who never experience summer in Ames. It was the best.
Great weather, uncrowded, things to do outside. The people who tend to stay over the summer also seemed like a better crowd than during the school year.

Re: I feel sorry for the students
I'm sure they are probably more glad they can actually enjoy this weather now without classes and studying getting in the way...

Re: I feel sorry for the students
The best thing about having good weather during the school year is when all the ladies start sun bathing out on the grass by their dorm rooms. I always took up running about that time of year.

Re: I feel sorry for the students
One of the reasons I loved May term or "play" term at Wartburg.
1 class for 5 weeks. From 9-12 in the morning, and the professors wanted to be out just as bad as students did. Very rarely, if ever, did we go the whole time.
Basically spent the rest of the day outside.
I think Simpson has this too.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating. -

I think Simpson has this too. Yes, Simpson also has a May Term. It's a great time to visit my friends that go there, because they've got plenty of free time on their hands.

Re: I feel sorry for the students
Strangely enough I don't feel sorry for them at all from my office.

Re: I feel sorry for the students
In my 5.5 years at ISU, I think there was one nice spring before class got out in May.
This is the norm and I agree that it sucks.
Summers in Ames are amazing. Probably my favorite time there.
The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012. -
