I know this story has been broken but wanted to get his name on the main page, as he is the main man for ISU in the near future.

From his SDSU interview:

Like fellow finalist Elliot Hirshman, the No. 2 official at the University of Maryland Baltimore County who addressed the public Monday, Leath expressed his support for college athletics.

“How do we bring people to the door of San Diego State University to tell our story?” Leath asked. “One of the ways you do that is through athletics.”

I had the opportunity to speak with him about this and he did express support for athletics. Essentially, he expressed the same sentiment that he did when under consideration for the job at SDSU:

Leath expressed his support for college athletics.

He made a special mention of the importance of being in a BCS AQ conference and how much we needed to maintain that status.

I don't think we could have gone wrong with either one, they both sounded impressive with everything I read. We will know in 10 years if President Leath is as good as GG. If he is, then ISU will be in good shape.

Just curious, but how? Do you see something now that suggests that, or are you just throwing it out there that he could be better than GG?

Just saying, he's going to be a different person. Who's to say he wont be better than GG? Everyone keeps saying he might be as good but who's to say he won't be better?
