Pete Taylor
A sad day in Cyclone history. Pete Taylor died on 3/5/03. RIP Voice of the Cyclones!

Re: Pete Taylor
My favorite Cyclone of all-time.

Re: Pete Taylor
Just imagine Pete's excitement with this team

Re: Pete Taylor
Pete would be damn proud of what the Mayor is doing.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -
Re: Pete Taylor
Pete would be so excited that we have the Mayor as our coach

Re: Pete Taylor
Pete would have had so much fun this year with the successes of both the football and basketball programs.

With Pete alive I truly believe the whole LE fiasco goes down differently and we get the sober version coaching us today.

Pete would love this team, and he would just be out of this world with Fred

From everything I've heard, this is very possible, but you never know where that would have gone. Maybe Larry wouldn't have kept winning. He had a pretty rough '01-02 campaign and '02-03 wasn't great by any stretch, but Haluska might have stayed and you had Blalock and Stinson coming in the next year so there were some good pieces to work with.
I think a sober Larry coaching with Morgan recruiting could have continued to be an effective combo.

I think a sober Larry coaching with Morgan recruiting could have continued to be an effective combo. I am not sure what you have heard, but I can assure you the photos were in the athletic department before Pete passed and the plan on how to handle them changed after Pete's passing.
Pete passed on 3/5, the photos "came out" on 4/28 a short 54 days later. The photos were taken January 22.
That timeline is why I have such a deep seated disgust with BVD.

Re: Pete Taylor
There are certainly still times when I still think of Pete Taylor. However, I am really proud of John Walters, and in the way he is evolved into the voice of the Cyclones. He is very good, and he makes the blow of not having Pete calls those plays a little less.
