You would think JP and the ADept. would expand registration on this and get as much $ as they can. Oh well.

I'm sure I can look it up somewhere, but I'm sure one of you would be happy to share.
Starts with appetizers and open taps of beer (all night). Several rounds of trivia, each round 'celebrities' (coaches, AD staff, former players, etc) will rotate round to different tables. At some point pizza is brought in for the tables. Did i mention open taps of beer all night?

What'd be cool would be to do this more than once a year. Not too often, but i think the demand is clearly there that you could possibly do something like this during the summer sometime (when everything else is pretty much a lull) or maybe in conjunction with homecoming in the fall.

My table has discussed this, but where do you put them? You could shoehorn a few more tables in, I suppose, but the floor is already full. Might be fire code implications, not sure.

But where else could they put it with the square footage, sound system, and tech? (They use the ribbon and the scoreboard). Oh, and somewhere they can serve alcohol.

I wondered if some of the Scheman rooms could be put together, but a buddy said it wouldn't be as big as the Hilton floor.

I'm not a recruiting expert, but having the coaches there is a big draw for me. If I knew, for example, there would be no chance that CPR or CFH would sit at our table, it would lose some of its luster for me. Is there another time of year where you wouldn't be pulling coaches off the road?

it's probably good that the demand is higher than supply -- i remember when it was fairly empty

This year was never going to work for me, but I've thought since I graduated it would be fun to get a table together. Doesn't seem like it will happen though if spots are so scarce now.

Re: Cy's House of Trivia April 14th -- Rollcall

I've never been to it, but maybe some of you can answer these questions. How is it setup on the floor? Stage/announcer at one end? In the middle? Someone mentioned they use the videoboard...what for? Showing tables randomly? Showing the question/answer?

Ideally I think to get the most space they would put the stage either at one end or at "halfcourt" on the side, or directly under the videoboard so all can see. Is there a good picture of the arrangement? I'm assuming they use what they feel is the best setup to get the most people (most $$$$) and not violate codes.

Also, being that it's in such high demand, maybe start a lottery-entry system. People do it for say, 3 years, then if they want to come back in the next 1-2 years have to be one of X-number of "lottery" winners. They (ISU) don't lose any money because all the seats are still filled, and fresh faces get a chance to interact with coaches and enjoy the festivities. Might make 'regulars' upset, but if they can't expand they may eventually lose interest if people can't register year after year after year because all the returners get first dibs. Flame away...

The video board is lowered, and used to show questions/answers (slides and video). Several rows of rectangular tables to the east and west (88 tables). Judging/scoring table and stage along the north wall. Food along the south wall. Beverages in the corners.

Ribbon board shows updated team scores.

    Here's a shot from 2008, with about 50 tables:

And one from 2011, with all 88 tables:
