Colorado area Fanatics: VEISHEA West @ Arapahoe Basin
For those of us who live a little too far west to make it to Ames, we will be celebrating instead at the 2nd Annual VEISHEA West extravaganza at Arapahoe Basin ski mountain, on Saturday April 21.
Last year was more of an informal event, but it has grown and is sponsored by the ISU Alumni Association. We have reserved a spot on the "beach", plan to tailgate and grill food, have tailgating games, and of course skiing (if there is any snow left).
If you are interested in going, please register at the link below. The more we have pre-register, the more food there will be, simply put. I also know there may be a keg involved. Hope to see some of you there! VEISHEA West Ski Event - Events Calendar - Iowa State University Alumni Association -

Sorry to be that guy, but I may bump this a few times. Want to get the word out.

That would be awesome!!
A tad OT but, this has been a horrible year for snow in the Colorado Rockies!

Sounds like more fun than the real thing! Not joking at all, would be a blast. -

As far as VEISHEA West goes, I think this year it will be less skiing and more tailgating. I can nearly promise Cardinal and Gold bikini tops on snowboards, as I've heard rumors of that same as the keg. -

Little bit OT, but are there quite a few ISU grads in the area (Denver/Boulder/Ft Collins) for gamewatches and stuff like that? I'll be moving out in the summer after I graduate and figured I'd pretty much be on an island, lol.

I know there are often gamewatches in Denver, and there is a bar in Loveland that is owned by ISU alums (or at least they are very supportive). We are trying to establish an ISU bar in Fort Collins, but there are no obvious choices. Our FoCo social group of about 20 people is probably half neighbors and half ISU alums.
Still see waaaay more Hawkeye fans out here, unfortunately.

Can't wait. Last year was a lot of fun!

Can't wait. Last year was a lot of fun! Pretty sure that one will be toned down a bit, or there will be issues with Mrs. isukendall

We may have a couple Hawkeyes there too. I just recommend not coming out in Hawkeye gear, can't make any promises on how people (self included) would treat someone decked out in Hawk gear at a Cyclone event. -

Aside from the Hawkeye flag I will be flying, of course. :D
No, but seriously, if there is snow, I may show up. Keep bumping this thing so I know where and when - I know there is only one parking lot up there, but ya know....

Sounds awesome. We used to head out there and camp at The Beach for 2 or 3 nights to get first tracks, but they stopped allowing overnight stays a while back.
I may be moving to Colorado later this month....would be sweet if my move timed up with this!
