Plus non-conference games basketball games. If you're outside the state of Iowa this will be the only way to watch.

I would get it if it worked on my Roku in 720p.
Absolutely. It's so easy to hook a computer up to today's TV's and if you are a sports bar in the coverage area for a game that Mediacom picks up, you'd be a fool not to have a subscription to an ISU sports service.
Also, I'll bet there are more people that would pay to watch a game at home than there are that would go to a sports bar to watch random non-conference basketball games. The 1 football game a year is the one time the sports bar argument is even valid, imo.
Any sports bar showing a MC22 production of an ISU game isn't doing us an favors. The production on those games is embarrassing and makes ISU look like we are stuck in the stone ages. Any decent Iowa sports bar that wants ISU fans will be able to set up an internet stream. It's really not that complicated for anyone with half a brain to stream from a computer (or a phone even) to an HD tv.

One Big question will be whether or not the continue to license the non-conf men's BB games to ESPN3. I would bet ESPN gives them more money to license those games on ESPN3 than ISU would generate extra revenue from extra subscriptions to cyclones.tv with exclusive rights to those non-conf BB games.
If you live in Central Iowa, you'll always have WOI, but for those people outside of WOI, ESPN3 is the only option other than clone zone.
This past season the non-conf games didn't show up on the ESPN3 schedule until sometime in mid-November, so I bet ISU and ESPN were in some sort of revenue discussions in anticipation of future years.
For 90% of fans who live outside the range of WOI, if you don't have the men's non-conf BB games with exclusive coverage on cyclones.tv, the only thing of value on cyclones.tv will be the 1 football game.
I suppose JW will have to change his twitter handle.
Chances are this will mean more ISU content on TV if it goes the route of KStateHD.TV, not less. The same stuff that was on TV will likely still be on TV.

cyclones.tv sounds great. it will probably be completely awesome and there will be 37 threads complaining about it on CF.
all that content for $80/yr? steal.
Not to derail the thread but what is Roku? Can you get espn channels on it? How about espn3? I've been looking to replace our cable since we only watch it for sports but we end up paying for hundreds of channels we don't want.

Back to the Cyclones.tv network, if the video stream is HD and reliable I will def buy it.
I think it's a disease. Antibiotics will probably take care of it.
