Cyclones.tv stream in HD >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mediacom 22 The Keg Stand in WDM did this last year for the Missouri game. They had a laptop connected to a projector (at least in the large side room) and streamed the game from the CloneZone.
If the technical infrastructure and production is improved with Cyclones.tv, I'm very excited for this. Like someone else mentioned, I see the fee partially as a donation to ISU Athletics anyway, so I won't feel bad if I go a month without logging in to check out the new content. With the additional coverage they seem to be indicating that they'll have, I think I'll be checking it out pretty often. Might have to finally get a PC/Roku box/whatever hooked up to the home theater so we can watch on the HDTV.

Sometimes the audio is a little off but that usually only lasts for a minute or two. I'd call it 720p quality but it's better than just listening on the radio!!

Re: Cyclones.tv
My thoughts:
Also, this can only be good news when it comes to additional content about the team. For example, KU had a really really sweet video on youtube that chronicled their week leading up to the ISU game that was really well done. I would love to see more of that and I already love the hit tapes.

"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

If they get it on Roku box I will buy for sure.

Re: Cyclones.tv
Looks like good stuff, clone zone has needed the upgrade.
Hopefully the system wont crash and burn when they try to broadcast a football game on it like last year.

I think the ideal solution for EVERY conference, not just the Big 12, would be for a total conference TV network and then every school to have an online network as well.
There's no major market for a broad TV network of one school (even UT), but every school has a market for an online network dedicated only to them.

Re: Cyclones.tv
Only cybsball20 could find a way to ***** about this. This is a huge positive to Iowa State athletics. Keep your out of staters involved, let non-revenue sport parents follow their kids more easily, etc.
The games which were going to be left to Mediacom Connections 22 will now be available for everyone. How is that a bad thing? They aren't going to pull a football game from ABC Regional to put it on Cyclones.tv. I'll absolutely buy it and I'm sure my girlfriend will use it to watch volleyball games we can't get to. Re: Cyclones.tv
I hope this fixes the problems of MC22 games not being online anywhere. I'd take paying $10/ month over guessing whether ESPN3 is blacked out any day.

A conference TV network is the way to go and is the most profitable for all parties involved. Texas may not think so since they got a sweatheart deal from ESPN but a conference network is the way to go. Of course you can incorporate an online piece too.
A conference TV network would reach the country and would raise far more money.

Yes, it's a great tool for existing fans, but it will not do anything for the GROWTH of the fanbase, something we desperately need. The games are not available to everyone, only those with a Cyclones.tv subscription, but those fans probably would have paid for the game even if it was the crappy Clone Zone feed.

A conference TV network would reach the country and would raise far more money. I'm not convinced a conference TV network would be a ton more profitable. The Big 10 Network makes a boatload of money because it dominates a bunch of states and therefore could bully itself onto the TV networks. Big 12 doesn't have that power (Big 10 is top dog in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, and Pennsylvania...Big 12 only in Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, West Virginia).

Free games >>>>>> pay games any day, any way you look at it I understand, and I think most do, that this is not the ideal. But I don't see how it isn't a step forward, and a big one at that.
The only real way to reach casual fans to grow the fanbase is to be on network TV or ESPN, and MAYBE Fox Sports, and that can only be done by winning more. This is something the athletic department has direct control over, and it's likely as good as we can get right now.
It would be nice to get a Big XII network going, but I don't think a Big XII network and cyclones.tv would be mutually exclusive.
