There were plenty of normally rational posters who weren't big Pollard fans too. They were generally guys who were at ISU in the late 90's/'00 and they wanted to keep having that kind of success for free.
One thing that is lost is not only has he doubled the budget, he has also made the AD 100% self funding. That's a big deal.
Big deal might be the understatement of the century. Had you told me he would accomplish this I would have guessed it would have taken him 15 years or longer. He also did this during a time when the economy was in bad shape and a lot of people didn't have extra money laying around to donate or even to attend games like they used to do. To think he did it in 6 years with all kinds of things working against him.... Wow!
To my fellow Cyclones... Be excellent to each other... and PARTY ON DUDES!
I think he has done amazing things I know I have always wished to come to ISU. But I think on a bigger note look how great he has done all at the same time of having his son so sick with cancer. I know if one of my kids where sick like that my job would be the last thing on my mind. But some how he makes it work and that we still get the best of him and so does his family. He truly is top notch in my book.
I remember all the JP haters vividly. Not just here, but on CR back in the day. I've always said he's fantastic and as soon as ol Barry retires at Wisconsin....we've got trouble. He deserves a raise and a long term contract.
