What win would have meant more to the future success of Iowa State Athletics.....
1. Beating Nebraska at JTS back in 2010 to send ISU to it's 2nd stright bowl game
or
2. Knocking out Kentucky in the 2nd round of the NCAAs
It isn't just the win, but the timing. Beating #2 Oklahoma State was big. Beating #2 Oklahoma State on Friday night late in the season with no other games going on was absolutely huge.
Thus, if we beat Kentucky with a small national audience, we have to follow-up with beating Indiana with a large national audience to benefit fully.
If we would have beaten rutgers, then it would have been 1, because we could have been 3-0 under CPR in bowl games. But beating the overall no. 1 and eventual NC is what I pick. I would have compared it to the OSU football win this season.
