No. 2 and it's not even close.

    1. Beating Nebraska at JTS back in 2010 to send ISU to it's 2nd stright bowl game

    or

    2. Knocking out Kentucky in the 2nd round of the NCAAs

I wonder if the key phrase is "future of success of Iowa State athletics."

For single-game impact on a national stage, UK is the obvious choice.

A half-real test on this: what would mean more: UK vs. beating OSU (which actually happened).

UK still seems larger, but I'm more of a CBB fan than CFB ... it brings up the question of importance of football vs. basketball

It isn't just the win, but the timing. Beating #2 Oklahoma State was big. Beating #2 Oklahoma State on Friday night late in the season with no other games going on was absolutely huge.

Thus, if we beat Kentucky with a small national audience, we have to follow-up with beating Indiana with a large national audience to benefit fully.

If we would have beaten rutgers, then it would have been 1, because we could have been 3-0 under CPR in bowl games. But beating the overall no. 1 and eventual NC is what I pick. I would have compared it to the OSU football win this season.

No, I mean 3-0. I meant that we would have had a chance to be 3-0 if we would have beaten Rutgers.
