A month or so ago, I saw an ESPN special on the guy who "invented" the conference championship game for the SEC. Most hated it at the time, but the show gave it much credit for the upsurge of the SEC.

That's right, & his favorite player is Antonio Langham.

B10 ended up cutting back to 8 again after their partnership with the PAC
ACC is going to 9 games as well though
Big East will likely do 9 as well if they survive

I'll bet the PAC stays at 8 as well then. This just gives credence to the idea that if you can guarantee your conference will have some quality games on their non-con schedule.

I looked around. Looks like the Pac will be at 9 next year...

Pac was already at 9 games this past year.

Well, I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about then. That being said, I still think what I said about Notre Dame makes some sense (especially when you consider what the Big Ten is doing).

Some of the Pac 12 schools are like playing a creampuff schedule. I think they stay at nine.
