OK. Yes, that is exactly the right thing to do and all defense attorneys would give the same advice. This case can now be plea bargained to minimize the damage to his record and his future. Depending on his criminal history, he could get a deferred judgment and come out of this without a conviction. That option would be foreclosed is he had entered a guilty plea.

It would be interesting if this were connected. IF they were on campus, you were supposed to remove your bike from the racks, so they can get the abandoned bikes off of them. I imagine their boss told them to cut the locks on abandoned bikes, I think it was going on sometime this week.

Why keep and sell them? You need the money that bad, with that kind of risk? Stupid. Doesn't reflect on the coach, just the wayward, former student.
He should have done what Jacob Pullen at KSU is alleged to have done. Just carry a cutter, use the bike you want to get to class or practice, and leave it there. Don't keep it. Apparently, he did this all the time, and nobody did anything.

Sucked because he had just gotten it at the start of the year too.
