Frankly, my experience growing up there puts the Iowa haters as the chicken before the ISU fans' egg.
I do have family and friends who are Iowa fans, and most are, like you say respectful. But I have encountered many, many more who are ridiculous (including some in the family, unfortunately) about ISU and ISU fans. In my experience I don't find your premise to be correct.
So most are "like is said" (nice people, don't trash ISU) yet many more are rude Iowa fans. If so, than 'most' wasn't the word you were looking for. I see your point and I believe you, at this point it's just one guys' experiences against another's. There's no way to accurately summarize the entirety of both fan bases.

I didn't know Boone had a mall?

The majority of Iowa fans dont hate ISU. There are probably tons of ignorant Iowa fans that trash talk ISU, but most don't. Most Iowa fans don't care that much, they would rather talk hawkeye sports.
Of all the ISU people I know in the DM area (pretty consistently middle aged succesful people) most of them really hate Iowa. They hate Iowa city, and they will take any opportunity to put diwn Iowa. They teach their kids to despise Iowa, these kids are my age.
And I know many more Iowa fans, as much of my family went there. These Iowa fans rarely act te same way. I can remember going to grown up parties with my parents when ISU games would be on (big 12 games) and everyone would be rooting for them against Texas Nebraska or something.
In terms of the back and forth between Iowa and ISU fans, nothing makes me more upset than the ISU fans that claim: 'Iowa fans really hate ISU'. On the whole, it's not true. An if anything, ISU fans really hate Iowa, and that shows in many ways.
I'm not trying to tick anyone off, because I like ISU and respect their athletics and entire university (rooting for them often) but I think ISU fans don't like Iowa, and they have reason to feel that way. In almost every way, Iowa is big brother. And you guys aren't going to like me saying that, but it is historically true and the presence of the non affiliates 'bandwagon fans' prove that.
The way ISU fans put down Iowa fans, calling them uneducated, 'most of them didn't go to college', is not founded in truth.
My belief is that isu people have been raised to dislike Iowa to the extent where Iowa fans get tired of the relentless disrespect. And some Iowa fans begin to hate ISU.

You shouldn't associate with people like that. The cyclone friends I hang out with have relatives that own their own golf course. You have to have some sort of benefit from the relationship.

These small down media outlets are extremely important to these communities and serve a great purpose. Just my two cents.
Oh come on....what did you really expect the reaction to be like? Predictable response from many on this board.

I just found the 10th-grade Comp quality and grammar amusing.

Gonna go ahead and close this thread down. Take the rivalry stuff to the rivalry forum.
