Iowa State Athletics Premium mobile app

Has anyone else tried this? I ended up being on the road last weekend and couldn't find the game on the radio (wasn't in Iowa) so tried the free version of the Cyclones mobile app. Of course you need to purchase the Premium app to listen to live audio, so I did. But then you also have to login to a Cyclone.tv account. I already had a Cyclone.tv account but this just seems like they're double-dipping. The mobile app should be included with the Cyclone.tv account IMO.

I'd probably pay for it if they'd get the iPhone app to support live streaming video so I can watch it on my TV, and I agree, if you're paying for Cyclones.TV you should be able to get the same content on the app without paying for it again

So basically there is no reason to buy the mobile app if you aren't a cyclones.tv subscriber?

The app works fine for radio streaming of live events. On 4G, the videos that they have up there look pretty slick as well. I agree with wishing for live video broadcasts, as well as the fact that the app should be included with your Cyclones.tv subscription. And as I found out, the app expires at the end of the academic year, so even if you had the premium app last year, you had to buy it again this year.

Correct. But that isn't specified anywhere so there's probably a lot of people paying for the premium app for no reason.

EDIT: Actually, as noted below, I didn't read the description close enough. It does say you need a Cyclones.tv account to access live audio.

Damn, I didn't read the description close enough. That's crazy. Hopefully I never have to miss another game.

Is that the iOS version? Android version cost 4.99 I think.

If you are using Android the app is really just for convenience. It is a little clunky but you can just log in on the website and watch videos/live stream/etc like you would on your computer. If you are using an Apple device you have to use the app because of the lack of flash support by Apple.
