    CNN teaming with Bleacher Report

    It looks like CNN will be replacing Sports Illustrated with the Bleacher Report for their sports "news" provider. Ouch, talk about a step way back. It looks like I'll go elsewhere for my sports.

    Next they will be replacing the regular news with the Onion. Holy smokes, at first I thought it was an April Fools Day joke in January! I would suspect traffic to that part of their website will plummet.

    1. It looks like the link they're telling you to bookmark for future use is sportsillustrated.cnn.com. If this is true it would imply that relationship between CNN and Sports Illustrated has not been terminated - it's just no longer going to be CNNSI.

    2. If the relationship between CNN and SI is truly terminated, instead of the opinion that CNN is choosing Bleacher Report over SI, anyone think that SI might have terminated the relationship themselves?

    3. While CNNSI had great sports stories, it had nothing on Yahoo, ESPN, CBS, FOX, etc. in terms of up-to-date sports reporting. Not that Bleacher Report will change that whatsoever.

    Just because it is bleacher report does not mean you are unable to have quality content. People always ***** about professional integrity for what passes as "news" these days; why not go the amateur route? They can cherry pick articles for programs written by fans who are in the know. When you are reading about Oregon State, would you rather hear the information from someone who has followed their program for 15 years or some name who just started paying attention to something news-worthy?

    It's not a bad idea IMO. Also gives part-time writers a chance to make some money off their hobby. Who goes to CNN for sports, anyway?

    CNN's sports headlines on their front page have been 90% "Truth vs. Rumors" for quite some time so this doesn't surprise me that much that they went even higher on the cheese scale.

    Annoying to click on a headline that seems interesting only to find it is some stupid "Truth vs. Rumor" speculation article.
