Isn't this an IOWA City thingee, wanting to look like a dork in public or is it a FRAT thingee? LOSER thingee either way. Try wearing this to your job interviews, why don't you. Wear a tan straw farmers hat as well. might as well go all out.

I don't get all the "comfiest shoes ever" comments. Do people really have a hard time finding comfortable shoes in 2013? These things are for flat-out doorknobs. That or for little boys under the age of 8 who have their mom picking out "cute" clothes for them.

Re: Sperrys debate
Most of the reason why I asked this question in this thread is that I just visited University of Alabama this past week. Most of them wear this to class everyday. Not quite sure why, but they do. THEY are the ones pulling these stupid things not the ISU Greek System. Go down there and you'll see it in about five minutes because they ALL wear it.

Re: Sperrys debate
The whole "comfy" thing pisses me off. To me, part of comfy is how easy it is to slide into these things. If you look at women's boat shoes and men's boat shoes, the only difference is the hole that the foot slides into is bigger in the women's shoes. How hard is it to make the hole in the men's shoes bigger so it's that much easier to slide into them?

I don't know this for sure, but I'm guessing that is because it's more common for a woman to have really high insteps and need that space for her tall foot?
I say this because I have a really high instep on a narrow, small foot. Supposedly this is a sign of aristocracy. I find this unlikely - I find it to be a sign that it's a really big pain in the butt to get shoes without them squishing the top of my foot and hurting. Shoes that have wide openings to slip my foot in give me a little breathing room at the top.

Well it appears they get their fashion sense straight from the Sperry website then. Only problem is these frat boys aren't about to board their schooner on Martha's Vineyard for evening cocktails. The Sperry website also has an odd fascination with golden retrievers.

Re: Sperrys debate
Meh, it's probably more of a "me" problem than it is anything else. It's hard for me to find shoes in my size (15) so I generally end up having wear shoes that are too small. Which probably explains being unable to just slip right into my supposedly "slip-on" shoes.
