As Cyclone fans we are used to disappointment and perhaps have become numb to it. Yet, with all the stuggles, when we do accomplish something special it just makes it that much sweeter. GO STATE!

Then we get put on probation for it. Welcome to Cyclone Country everyone younger than me. For the record. It never ends. There is no end in sight. ISU is the bad girl friend you keep falling love with. That is what makes it better when we win. We win against the odds and now apparently the Big 12 and NCAA who cheat us every chance they get. Just think in 4 years when we win the big 12 basketball championship we can give every one the middle finger. Well that is until someone does a story on our coach and he get's fired.
Kind of a glass half empty guy, aren't you? I agree that at appears we get the short end of the stick more times than not, but overcoming adversity and insurmountable odds just makes our accomplishments mean that much more.

I grew up watching the Cyclones for the last 40+ yrs, and have seen some very bad, and some awfully good teams/coaches come and go. The great thing about college sports is the excitement that that next recruiting class can bring.

Very few programs have the luxury of New Years bowl and sweet 16appearances on a regular basis, still that is something I always hope for but rarely expect. Life is way to short to always dwell on negatives. I choose to recall the good times and root for their rapid return.

A lot of fans expect way too much out of these dedicated young men. If they give their all for ISU and our fans, that's all I can ask and thank them greatly for doing so!!

Amen brotha. No matter how bad certain times can be at Iowa State - it only makes the good times EVEN BETTER. Plus when you are a Cyclone and you are down, you got other ISU fans to pick you up...and don't forget about alcohol. There is always that.

Dude, it is ALWAYS a great time to be an ISU fan. I love this University, and all it stands for.

Not interested in listening to whiners and criers.

I guess I'm just too optimistic for some of yous guys. I truly believe that we are on our way up, and will get "there" provided we continue to support/ask for more from our leadership.

Re: I think some of you are now

C'mon. It could be worse--you could be a Cubs fan. I seem to recall back to back conference titles for both basketball teams, a near miss to the Final Four, and Bowl games (and wins) much more recently than what--1907?

It's a great time to be a Cyclone. Wesley Johnson is one of the best athletes ever to put on an ISU uniform, Craig Brackins will be huge, Austen Arnaud has a cannon arm and throws a sweet spiral, there are real athletes coming in to join him, rarely has life been better.

After all when the football team was up in the early and late seventies, the basketball team was down. When the basketbal team was up...well, most of the rest of the time, the football team had one really good season.

There are better athletes coming in now than I have seen for either sport in thirty years of following recruiting. The women's basketball team would be excellent save for one injury. Jack Trice is finally getting upgraded. I'm seein' a lot to be excited about in being a Cyclone.
