Yeah, please don't start trying to guess names. This happened on CR a couple days ago and it got pulled. From all accounts there is a very real chance of this happening.

Some People see things as they are and say why? I dream things that never were and say why not? When I took this job I said why not Iowa State? Why not winning? Why not bowl games? Why not sell outs? Why not national respect? Why not us? Why not here? Why not the cyclone family?

If a second deck is added, what would that increase the capacity to?

ISU Student - Iowa fan. Best of both worlds.

I hope this isn't some sick April Fools Joke. :(

I think with the 2nd deck, JTS would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 60-65k seats.

Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.

The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success.

This is Cyclone Football.

Lets hope we can get butts in the seats.

If you build it, they will come.

There's been times when there've been upwards of 55,000 there, so I'm sure against big name teams 60K would be a real possibility.

I don't know how much more seating would be needed though - at least not right off the bat.

Dont get too excited about the upperdeck. JP has to sell the rest of the staduim out regulary before they add an upperdeck to the endzone. Well in theory anyway. They are getting close but they still struggle to get people in all the seats. Lets take it one step at a time.

They need to do the BB facality before they add the upperdeck. By doing everything to the staduim you are putting all your eggs in one basket. JP needs to show McD and the BB players he is commited to basketball as well as FB. Right now ISU needs a BB facality worse than an upperdeck on a part of the stadium that isnt built yet.

I'm not an expert on sports, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night

I bet Ed Droste is pulling for the Hooters Endzone? They just haven't figured out how to do it yet.

That should not be so hard.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:
'Struck by a Cyclone
It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town'

I don't think we need to do an upper deck bowl. Honestly, I just don't think there is that kind of population in iowa to support 130,000 (kinnick + expanded Jack) people at d-1 football games every saturday, assuming the hawks have a home game too. I think if we bowl in the lower level on the south, we will fill it pretty consistently, but I would rather see the extra money go into stadium beautification, like brick fences, new seats, completing the east concourse, etc, etc. I would take all of that over a bball practice facility. This is all, of course, assuming this rumored deal thing happens... I seriously hope this isn't an April fool's joke

I'll order up another shot of sin, I'm running twice as hard into the wind, I'll hitch a ride when the next one comes in, fell off the wagon again...
