I was in Barnes and Noble the other day and happened to see a book on the shelves called "The Greatest Sports Arguments of All time." Basically it was a bunch of questions that sports fans can argue about, things like if you could have four tickets to any sporting event in history, which one would you go to? Stuff like that.
Well I happened to see one titled "The NBA All-Underated Team" and I decided to see if there was a certain Cyclone on the list. Sure enough, Jeff Hornacek made the list (at least according to the authors). Just thought it was fun to see one of my favorite Cyclones in print!

Yes, for a walk-on to have such a great college career, AND a long NBA career where he wasn't just a scrub, is truly amazing.

Back when Jeff was at ISU, I had an English class with Jeff. During the BB season I would get his assignments when he was out of town for games and he would call me to get what was needed for class while he was gone.
I got to know Jeff & the other players pretty well and he is truly an amazing story to ISU & the NBA. Not bad for a guy who couldn't dunk, but was a superior leader on the team. | | |

The one thing that is apparent to me when watching old game tapes is that Hornacek always seemed to make the right pass. Maybe not the flashiest, or hardest one, but the right one. He was great.

Jeff didn't have the "body" that most people look for today in baskeball players, but guy shot lights out.

Jeff Hornacek is awesome. In addition to being a great basketball player, he has an outstanding financial/life philosophy. I wish there were more like him.
