NCC members on the rise
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but here is a map comparing the growth of NCC member in the Iowa counties. It compares 2007 and 2008. Explosive Growth For 1-in-10 Campaign - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - Iowa State Cyclones Sports -

What's up with Boone County?
I don't think I'm alone when I say I'd like to see more and more planets fall under the ruthless domination of our solar system. -
Re: NCC members on the rise
Looks like Boone County needs just 4 more people to crack the 10% mark.

Re: NCC members on the rise
Boone is slack'n
Kinda sad though that the best we can manage is 15% from any one county.... and most are like 11-12%. And whats up with Linn? 4000+ alumni, most of which probally work at Rockwell, I mean come on now!
Ok I will grant you it's hard to be excited about ISU when you're getting DROWNED in Hawkeye **** out there... Pollard should make a bit of an effort to extend our presence out there in some way shape or form. Work with the Alumni Association or something to have more events in the area and try to increase our positive visibility there (As the media is strongly biased for U of I)
Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy -
Re: NCC members on the rise
That was a lot more red than last year. Good job NCC members.

Re: NCC members on the rise
Looks like Osceola County at 1.1% has some work to do...

Once we get 10% then we can focus on 15% or more.

Re: NCC members on the rise
i didn't even realize there were 1600 people in Boone county let alone alumni. Now, if there are couples that are both alumni do they count just one person as part of the NCC or do they count both?

Re: NCC members on the rise
Lets look where the dollars come from from one perspective.
Total CC Membership: 7,500-7,900
(guesstimate since they have not released an updated total)
CC Membership from Polk and Story Counties: 4,119
(Somewhere between 55-60% of total)
CC Membership from Story and Adjacent Counties:4,930
(About 2/3 of the total CC Membership)
Interesting breakdown to look at how marketing needs to be allocated for growth.

Re: NCC members on the rise
They City of Boone is about 13,000 itself. There is no reason that Boone County doesn't have 500 members being in Ames back yard. Thats what makes it look bad
I think its amazing how many fans are not in the Cyclone Club. Especially when the lowest level is only 100 bucks. But I also can't figure out why there isn't more cyclone license plates. $50 bucks gets you a $25 donation to the university and cool plates.

As a former Boone County resident (I couldn't help it, my parents moved us there), I can tell you that there are a ton of Hawks over there (odd for a county that technically has part of Ames in it). I would be interested to see what the college attendance/graduation rates would be for Boone Co., coincidentally...

Re: NCC members on the rise
