Re: ISU Rec upgrades...

Wow this is a rough topic but honestly another Rec center is needed you can say what you want but putting a rec center closer to one of the biggest dorms in the country will most defininetly have an effect on the number of people exercising. If you want to get down to it you have more people become interested in exercise and fitness will actually save you money as the estimated annual costs associated with obesity is in the billions.

Re: ISU Rec upgrades...

I think its great that they are upgrading the facilities. If you didnt like it you should have shown up to vote against it. I guarantee all of you that dont like the new fees didnt bother to vote.

Re: ISU Rec upgrades...

I voted no....mainly because the 2 million dollars or however much they are spending on air conditioning is a waste. People are going to dehydrate more if it is cooler, because they won't sweat as much.

But I think I do remember lots of fliers and table tent stuff at the dining center saying "Vote Yes" but I could just have a faulty memory.

Re: ISU Rec upgrades...

so could these increases in student fees be viewed as sponsoring the track team in a way? since they hold indoor track and field events in the lied rec center maybe that was taken into account on what to upgrade. just a thought
