Any doubters on the new I State logo?

After getting shirts and sweatshirts, a logo on my car window, and the drawings of the new stadium with the I State logo, I absolutely love it! Any others in with the same thoughts, or second thoughts? Its grown on my fast.

Re: Any doubters on the new I State logo?

I saw a really cool dark burgandy sweatshirt with the logo on it ... but overall I think its taken a little while for retailers to figure out what looks good.

The logo itself is solid ... I'm not jumping for joy, but no big complaints either.

Re: Any doubters on the new I State logo?

I'm becoming very fond of the new logo. It let's us re-claim the "I" in Iowa. I look forward to seeing some additional merchandise selections, and am making a trip to the bookstore in a week to see what is available. The main thing is to commit to this logo for an extended period of time. Winning will make that a lot easier.

Re: Any doubters on the new I State logo?

I was a lil hesistant at first, not as much as a lot of others, but it really looks sharp on many items.

Theres a sweet-*** tommy Hilfiger polo at TGalaxy and it looks great with the new logo on it. Too bad its $70.

I used to like the blue, cause I didnt really become a Clone fan til coming to Ames, I think it was the 2nd or so year of the new logo, so thats all I knew. But I love the new one'

I know people hate the term "I State". But just cause we use it as our logo, it doesnt mean we have to go by it. Does Miss. St go by "M State"? No.

Here's a tip...find your favorite polo shirt on sale, take it to Signify and they will stich on a logo for $17. It's a multi colored I State logo and looks great!

Strawberry Patch at North Grand has printed a 1-color (white) version of the new logo on various colored t-shirts -- pink, green, blue, purple, etc. Absolutely awful.

I'll never make a big deal about it, but I believe the "I" is too stylized, and will be a dated look in a relatively short time.

I like the 1968 "I". More of a timeless look.

I still think it looks like crap on the helmet because of the colors, but there are bigger things to worry about.

I used to dislike it, but it's really grown on me. I love it.

Re: Any doubters on the new I State logo?

I've gone from fairly neutral when it first came out to really really liking it. I love the richer cardinal color as well. It's simple and I won't have to explain the twisty bird to folks I know from other parts of the country anymore.

I still think our old logo was one of the more unique in the nation. I loved it. Although I do like the simplicity of the new one...

Still not my thing, but it's not going anywhere so I've accepted it.

A crappy Iowa State logo will always trump an EIU logo on it's best day!

They need to die

I can't say the new logo has completely grown on me... it looks nice on clothing but is rather dull to me (words insted of something representative of us... and yes other big name programs have logos. Texas Longhorns anyone?)

Something that is making it grow more on me though is looking in my rear view mirror. Before leaving Ames I slapped a couple of window decals in the back... An old friendly Cy leaning on an I, the "Bird in a Blender" logo and the "I State" logo (across the back kind of like a timeline) I liked the bird in a blender logo until I saw it next to the I State logo and realized how much blue there is in one and how much cardinal and gold there is in the other. Still wouldn't mind a Cardinal and Gold version of the bird in a blender but it doesn't work as well as a 2 color logo...

I wasn't around for it but I like the old Cyclone logo from the late 80's? Early 90's? (The "cyclone" Cyclone logo..)

Can't say I care for I State entirely but it is here to stay so... time to move on

Re: Any doubters on the new I State logo?

I miss the old logo. The I State does little to distinguish us nationally from Illinois State, Idaho State, Indiana State, etc.... not exactly the company we should be keeping.
