Seriously, you're onto something there. The University of North Dakota built their rink off campus and they are allowed to sell beer and actually have a bar in their rink. They sell out all of their games and are doing very well. Just thought that it would be good to throw it out there that hockey might be able to bring in some money.

I would also love to see Iowa State bring baseball back on board but I'm not sure if they were charging to attend those games.

Hockey is huge at UND, and they had a major donor who left them massive amounts of money for the hockey program when he died. I think that donation was also conditioned on them keeping the "Fighting Sioux" name, which has put them at odds with the NCAA.

At ISU hockey and baseball would both lose money. The hockey club team we have is subsidized by student fee money and definitely wasn't self-sufficient as of a few years ago.
