Probably not. Football is by far the biggest revenue producer, followed by mens basketball. Women's basketball can make some money and probably does at ISU, but I'm betting most other sports lose money.

2006-07 was the prelude to this year's basketball team, and they had Bill Walker then as well, so that helped.
Their baseball team has been pretty good recently.
Their women's basketball team has been near the top of the conf this decade, here and there.
Lots and lots of reasons, I guess, IMO. Football is the big one though... people tend to dismiss that the Big XII was formed with Nebraska, KSU and Colorado being the powerhouses and UT and OU not at the top... KSU is a lot better as a program than people tend to believe.

Maybe it's the bowl revenue and I guess the difference between their football attendance and ours.(I dont know what that is).

Credits: 74,532 | Re: Big 12 revenue rankings from Omaha World Herald I'd bet that Pollard is looking at the K-State prototype as a model. Prior to Bill Snyder coming, K-State was at the bottom of the Big 8 in budget - below us. Their minor sports were underfunded and therefore performed poorly. Snyder took them to Top Ten rankings, they became a conference power, the stadium expanded and was packed, and the resulting football revenue enabled them to do things for the whole athletics program. Here's hoping we can imitate it! |
