I'm pretty sure they are planning a new chemistry building in the near future, hence the reason for the ceremony at Gilman. I don't think you would announce a major athletics donation there..... of course I don't recall the band playing at any other groundbreaking ceremonies for non-athletics buildings. Is it possible that Albaugh is making a joint donation for both the Chemistry facilitiy as well as athletics? Chemistry would seem to be a logical place for an academic donation from him given his background...
PDTcyclone, what is the date of this ceremony?

PDTcyclone, what is the date of this ceremony? I think that the Chemistry building already has its donors in line. They got a large donation from the family of the founder of Hach Chemicals...hence the name Hach Hall. Also, the Carver Trust donated a large amount.

Hach Hall just doesn't sound the same as Gilman
But Gilman really really needs to be... replaced. Renovations are probally a lost cause at this point...

The date is September 6th, same days as the Kent state vs ISU game ( at 10:45 am) isn't that when the game starts?

On a side note, I was up in Ames taking the fam to Hickory Park on Saturday night. I decided to take a cruise around the campus area as I haven't been around there in a long while. I as FLOORED at how much had changed and how much construction was going on.

on a sad note....the parking ramp no longer has the cashier at the exit. That lady was there for 10 + years.

We would take said ticket and pay whatever the charge was for like 5 mins or something. Worked like 10 times.

I used to work in that MU booth in the early '90 's. That lady was there for a while before I worked there. She was a really nice person.
