Bobcat needs to get on here and claim knowledge to the new basketball facility.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but would the $231M flood bill from EIU set back all these plans if the state is not insured???

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

I'm thinking the new BB facility is probably the news that Bobcat was referring to. Nothing wrong with that. It is very good news for both of our BB programs... much needed!

This has to be the longest ever "I know something you don't know" thread and in the end - it may be about nothing.

No. The university has a large flood insurance policy. Their deductible is only $3 million. The state doesn't insure the universities; they take care of that themselves. Flood insurance is probably the only thing they go to an outside company for; I believe all three state schools are self-insured. (I know ISU is.)

So, if I had an accident on ISU property, and it was the university's fault, could I sue them for $1 and a National Championship in football and basketball?

That way they'd have to win one each in order to pay up.....

Could this really be the case? I've heard that JTS phase II being ready to roll was one of the worst kept secrets in the athletics program in a long time. If it turns out to be the bball facility, I'm happy its getting done, but it will still be a little disappointing.
