Maybe since it will be a very quiet period, this will generate a bump in sales, after the season renewals are in? Generate more buzzzzz. May take that long to get the i's dotted and the t's crossed too.

Any financial advisors or accountants that can confirm or deny this benefit for the seller?
Just wondering,
Z I think that you are talking about avoiding capital gains tax? I'm sure that a charitable donation would help there.

Quite a few companies and schools end their fiscal year on June 30th, perhaps the week of the 4th makes sense as the donation will come in during the 2009 fiscal year. I am sure the bean counters would much rather deal with a multi-million dollar donation after they close out their fiscal year vs. paying it out/receiving it in the final month of the year.

I have no reason to believe what I was told is not correct but I didn't hear it from the source directly so take it for what it is ... I was told it is a donation of $30,000,000 ... if true that is a very nice chunk of change.

I refuse to get my hopes up for anything till it is actually announced. Just setting up for disappointment if it doesn't happen.

When asked about the ISU @ Iowa game: Iowa wide receiver Derrell Johnson-Koulianos said. "This has to be the most important game of the year. We've got to treat it like we're playing for a Big Ten championship."
