"In college football you have to run your quarterback," he said. "We did some last year. Not enough. We'll do more of it. Not just trying to run for their lives, which we did a lot of. When that guy is an added threat it can give you great advantages."
I like this, and I think it is kind of hinting at Bates at QB? I don't see Arnaud as much of a running threat (atleast he can't run for his life in NCAA 09). I kind of see Chizik using Bates like he did last year to bring him in for running plays

I kind of see Chizik using Bates like he did last year to bring him in for running plays QFT. It's hard for me to play with Iowa State because I love having a mobile quarterback to give myself more options to run/pass. In my opinion, Bates is the bigger threat as a complete quarterback just because of his athleticism. Arnaud from what I've seen is head and shoulders the pocket passer, but if the line doesn't give him any time to throw it, it could be a long season.

The first thing I do is swap Bates for Arnaud because I like to roll out of the pocket and hit guys dragging across the field...but for some reason Arnaud gets caught from behind from 300 lb linemen and it drives me nuts

I had three years of great mobility with Arnaud on NCAA 08. -

I think every QB gets run down from behind. Every offensive line I've put together on any of those games gives us mysterious sacks to teams that don't have the talent to break through that line.

I'm telling you guys we're going to be running a lot of option this year...why else would arnaud lose some weight....

Kind of funny you base whether our QBs are mobile based on NCAA 09.... I think Bates is a good atheltic and we saw that, but let's give whoever the guy is a chance. I am sure the coaches will put in whatever game plan that gives the QB and the rest of the offense the best chance to win.

I'm all for putting the best QB out there and gives us the best chance to win. Afterall, it's the coaches decision and not CF'ers who determine the starting 11
