Color of new football uni's

On TV they look pretty red, but I was at the fair yesterday and looking in the ISU section in the varied industry building. The clone gear, including the new jerseys, were a dark burgundy. The jerseys look good and I almost got one, except the color is not close to red (or cardinal). Anybody that's seen the real jerseys, aren't they a true cardinal?

I just saw the pics of the uni's on another thread, and while darker than last year, they look a lot more red than the new jerseys at the state fair.

I think you're so used to seeing the "bright red" cardinal over the last decade plus that these new items look much darker than they really are. And yes, the cardinal they're using is our "traditional" cardinal which is the same shade that USC uses, who also claims the color cardinal.

I think our colors previous to this year were officially, Fire Engine Red and Kraft Mustard Yellow. No we're finally getting back to Cardinal and Gold.

Probably true, and maybe the game jerseys inside at the fair would look more cardinal outside. Like most everybody else, I really like the new unis and I like the white shoes (gives us our own look and not so close to USC).

The Nike replicas are definitely a little too dark, at least compared to the real thing. Which is odd because just about everything else from Nike (the new stuff) is the correct shade of cardinal. I wonder how they screwed up the replicas? I guess I shouldn't say "screwed up," because I still think they're sweet, just too dark :)

Not so sure why you think they're "too dark" - they look to be the same color as the coach's polos, and lighter than the offseason polo that the coaches wore on the tailgate tour (which I'm wearing at work today )...

In that picture, they look great. In person at the fair, they looked too dark. Maybe a bad batch or too much sun for this guy :)

I dunno - the ones on sale at JCPenney and Dick's here in Davenport more resemble the one I posted and less of the one you posted.

I was at the fair yesterday as well and agree, they seem a little too dark to be cardinal. More burgandy looking and closer to the picture on the left in the comparison above.
