Liang Chow- ISU coach?

On NBC last night, they said Chow use to coach at ISU. Is that right?

I think it's wrong. I think he was a Hawkeye coach until he opened his own gym.

I dont think so but not sure since they said he was the coach at Iowa during the team competition on Tuesday.

No, it was actually the UofI....the announcer had quite a pause trying to think of the university. he was probably confusing it with Shawn's use of I-state's facitlities while Chow's gym was flooded. but, hey it was a mention.

Pollard ran him off as the fans didn't like the 'thugs' he was recruiting. Pollard was really making a statement about the direction of the program, and replaced him with his own people. The ISU fans were cold and unforgiving...

Yeah, the Chow's Gymnastics website confirms that he spent seven years at Iowa...

As I pointed out last night, though, at least the announcer messed up by saying Iowa State instead of Iowa. Usually when an announcer does something like that, it's the other way around.

True. Plus you have to understand that most people outside the midwest (even in some parts of the midwest) confuse the two schools and don't really know where they are.

Actually he was at Iowa... I thought it was hilarious that they said ISU b/c it is usually the other way around.... :)

Nah he'll be too busy raking in the cash, telling all of these girls they're the next Shawn Johnson (or having the parents pay him to "make" them the next Shawn Johnson), even though that's impossible.....

I wonder how full his gym got in the last couple of years? Talk about striking oil after only having his own gym for a couple of months.
