I hate to ask, but there has to be someone on here associated with WOI. Dish claims that WOI is making "unreasonable demands" for their broadcast rights, and "they (DISH) should know because they've negotiated almost a thousand such contracts", basically.
I'd really hate to miss any Cyclone football games that end up on ABC, and basketball season would seem problematic. Can anyone tell me what's going on--from the other side? Is WOI (upper/corporate) management just being greedy?

Both sides are greedy...that is the problem. This won't happen with DirecTV. They are a premium over Dish, but this is one of the reasons. You don't get in these pissing matches renegotiating contracts.

Cyclone Television Network! Lots of basketball games are shown on WOI.

I don't think I'm alone when I say I'd like to see more and more planets fall under the ruthless domination of our solar system.

WOI hasn't been the same since the Regents sold it.

I would bet this gets settled very soon because I can't imagine Dish will want to be without ABC for long which airs big college football games. I just went and bought an over the air HD antenna the other week for $10 which I needed to do anyways because when it is really storming bad I lose dish signal so at least I have the locals for the weather when that happens.
On the plus side I could do without Grey Anatomy though...

Now, if you could help me with another technical issue (LAS major)...just exactly where would you put rabbit ears on a wall mounted 40" Plasma TV, in the ground floor living room of a 2 story home--with the garage to the North (towards the towers)?
Honest question. Please. I hate feeling dumb that way, but I am.

I think he's asking where he should put the antenna since the TV is wall mounted and his garage blocks the line of sight to the transmitter towers. An excellent question, and one I can't answer.

You probably need a bigger antenna than the Radio Shack one that someone already mentioned.

Same thing is going on here in Eastern Iowa with WHBF (CBS) and Dish Network. I've missed PGA golf for about a month now. That's okay though. I still have the Big Ten Network to take its place. |
