Cy has made it on the Capital One All America Mascot Team!!!!! This is going to be online voting all fall so lets make sure we get Cy in the playoffs!

My prediction, Cy will dominate!

Voting begins on September 8th and it looks like thats when the commercials will come out as well as the website being fully functionable!

Also, I LOVE the fact that Cy is featured front and center in the promotional artwork on the website!

This is pretty cool for Cy, but the overall concept is pretty stupid.

When Iowa played in the Capital One Bowl, I was there. (Don't ask why.)

I was actually looking forward to this big thing about what they did for this, as you always see the commercials. They put up a video on the video board during the game, and that was all they did for it.

But the 500 commercials leading up to it is good PR.

No kiddin not to mention they will be on the major networks along with ESPN....I can't wait for the commercials to come out!

My question is, did the people at CapitalOne just decide to put Cy in the competition, or did somebody from ISU lobby for it? If it's the latter, good job out of whoever did that. If it's the former, Cy is getting some well deserved recognition!

Yes. It is no doubt great PR for Iowa State. I'm just saying the way that Capital One Does it at the Bowl game is stupid.

I hope the AD pushes this. I think that is why we won the most dominate mascot challenge is because the AD made a big deal about it.

No, Cy had to try out and send in a highlight video and Capital one put him with the rest of the top 12 mascots in the nation.

Honestly, this won't even be a contest. Cy's a freakin' force of nature wrapped up in a mighty cardinal package! Can a bulldog really be expected to take him on?
