Those guys are on another level and would look at this as a step down. They are ready for the big time.

Disclaimer: We are all assuming this to be true. If he comes back and says it was a courtesy interview, he may win back a couple more players. If he just interviewed and nothing came about and both he and JP come out and say that, I won't be as ****** off.

Why in the hell would they actually be interviewing him? 5-19. I was actually worried about a buyout after next season.

He only lost to Iowa, UNLV, Kansas, Baylor, Nebraska, aTm, OSU, Colorado, Misery, Kansas State.

Gene's credibility will be severely wounded at this point, I think regardless of what he says.
And I do not think Pollard would have given as much information as he did if Chizik were not expected to get/take the job. Pollard knows better than to damage his head football coach's credibility if there were good chance we were going to be here in 2009.

I'm just simply saying, if the Auburn AD just called and said "Hey, our vacancy is open. We'd appreciate your interview," but they left the meeting in Texas and that was it, I wouldn't be as upset. We're all semi-assuming that an offer was made, etc.

Honestly, why would any one of those guys take this job now?

I'm too confused/upset/tired/******/depressed/whatever else I can think of to drink tonight (I repeatedly turned down various offers of free alcohol)
I'm going to go to bed. Tomorrow the sun will still rise, I will wake up, and life will go on.
Then I'll possibly be in a mood fit for drinking... proceed to go to my favorite liquor store, and buy a bottle of Jager to go with the red bull in my fridge...
Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy -

This has got to be a giant head fake. Based on his record, I'm not sure Chizik would get hired at ISU let alone Auburn. It' just too inconceivable.
