I-State in Philly
As my younger brother and I are going through security at the Philly Airport, the security guard stops my brother, who is wearing a hat with just the I-State Logo and a back pack with the logo, and goes "You know, you don't have to wear that Iowa State Cyclones stuff here, you can buy some Penn State gear inside."
Thought it was good for us that someone in Philly would recognize the new logo and know our nickname from it, considering it isn't anywhere on there.

I enjoy stories like that. I appreciate people that pay attention to things and know little bits of information like that.
Did you tell him you both have something in common - you hate the hawks?

better story than my Christmas experience in KC. I was sporting the retro walking Cy sweatshirt and my wife's cousin (works at KU and is a Kstate fan) asked, "is that a Wisconsin sweatshirt?"
What? I'm not kidding. He knows I grew up in WI - maybe that is what led to his confusion.

Customs officials in Belize this fall asked me where I was from, I said Iowa. He said how are the Cyclones? Thought that was great...then I told him how we were!
I love me some Jethros BBQ!

Been to North Carolina/California over the last couple of months...received compliments on the new logo (hat) in both places...and they actually knew that it was Iowa State.

For some reason, everytime I visit my proctologist, mid-exam he remembers to ask me about the Clones.
