I believe the concert location is going to be the large parking area on the north side of campus - north of the molecular biology building.

I wish they would just move it back to central campus or at least the forker parking lot. That north parking lot is a long walk from the bars and funnel cake stand.

The Iowa State homepage now has an article. (Didn't go back to the Daily.) I was hoping for a bigger country act, myself. The country performer is Jamey Johnson, whose name I didn't even recognize even though I've heard his (one?) hit song on the radio. Don't know much about him other than that, maybe he will be good after all.

Trapt is the concert I'm looking forward to the most. Straylight Run has one good song (Existentialism on Prom Night), but other than that don't know much about them either. I don't recognize Cartel from name alone, but I assume they have a couple songs I've heard. At least I hope so.

Looks like the entertainment just OK... nothing to blow me away. I'll save last judgement until I go to the concerts.

    Speaking of which, wristbands BLOW.

Cartel has 2 songs that I've heard of.. Both of which got played on the radio a lot a few years back.

The central campus set up was great...just too much damage to the grass from the crowd and stages.

Yeah, I can understand that, but grass always grows back. Is that really the reason they moved the stage??? If thats the problem, put the concerts in the forker lot, where Nappy Roots performed.

The accoustics have the potential to be terrible with that large glass building there.... they're going to have the face the stage away from Moly Bio so people will have to walk even further around to get to the ticketed area

Not to mention it's no where near the rest of the activities... though maybe thats the idea

Exactly.. If I remember correctly, I think they said last year that they wanted to spread out the people as much as possible to help prevent "possible altercations."

Yeah thats kind of crappy. What it'll do is ensure everyone just stays home and drink... rather than encouraging people to partake in the non-alcoholic activities of VEISHEA

Or gather at the bars on welch and then around 1:30-2 am, have everybody on the street at the same time.

They should just hold the concert in Boone.

Wow are they making us pay again for this? and putting it waayyy far from campustown? WEAK! I bought the wristband last year, not doing it this year.

“One day we’ll be in here celebrating a Big 12 championship,” Rhoads said. “That I can promise you.”

    I love Cartel...kind of pop-punk stuff...but I'm a big fan. I think they will put on a good show.

pretty sad lineup IMO. I was hoping the committee would come up with something to renew excitement for VEISHEA after last years fiasco. Trapt is ok but all in all this lineup is pretty vanilla. And wtf at NORTH of moly bio? I'm not stumbling all the way out there to hear some band that was popular 5 years ago.
