Apparently Angie also works for the athletic dept. Don't you folks get the night off to enjoy the VEISHEA activities?

I've listed countless facts as to why this is a very upsetting event and it's just another issue in a long trend of bad events.

No, I actually just recognize these sports for what they are - entertainment. I am calling out the people who want to be pseudo-indignant over something they never cared about before, and for trying to bring up arguments about "awful coaches" they would have knelt down in front of two years ago.

Your "facts" include Wesley Johnson leaving. Yeah, that has anything to do with the AD.
Edit - or just see CycloneErik's post three down, because he says it better.

You can blame JP all you want for the failures of his coaching hires but at the time we were excited for just about everyone of them. Its not really anyones fault no one knew they were all a bunch of ****** bags.
Re: A week ago, 90% on this board didn't care about wrestling.
its not mainstream, but its arguably ISU's flagship sport. It also confirms a devastating trend.

Basically, you've taken several things that may or may not be connected, decided that they are connected so that you have your chance to overreact, and make Mt. Everest out of a molehill. Relax. Life goes on.

we've had our disagreements, but this is profound. Hope you don't mind me borrowing it - it expresses my thoughts better than I can.

Wow, this is a great post! I'd vote for you for University President!

I just think that maybe the "poor little ISU" syndrome is a little bit of a self-fulfilling prophesy. You keep whining that nothing will ever go right, and it won't. Does nobody remember how to make lemonade?

Throw lemons down, stomp on them, and ask why Jamie Pollard didn't give us a better pitcher?

If sports are entertainment, ISU is a crappy little theater playing Jar Jar Binks on continuos loop.
Re: A week ago, 90% on this board didn't care about wrestling.
It's as if rational thought has gone out the window.
I am no longer willing to blindly support anyone. Did it with Gene - fail. Did it with Greg - so far, not good. There is only one man that has proved enough at ISU to deserve said blind faith and it's not JP, it's Bill.
Pollard has done many good things and I've never disputed that. He has also made some moves that have turned out to not be good. 3 years ago was a good move. Today showed to me, something between he (and/or his admin) and Cael failed.
You just can't hold JP blameless in all this, it's impossible. He's running the ship. He's said himself (paraphrasing) that it's his responsibility to improve the program. It's not happening.
You can toss hindsight out there all you want, at the end of the day, we can't maintain any sort of continuity. Before it was just with struggling programs. But now, we lost a coach (and legendary alum) from a very successful program.
ISU is entertaining no one, except for our rivals or those reading the headlines as we continue to flounder about aimlessly.
It's just not good - period.
