Noticed in Florida wearing Cyclone gear
I just recently returned from a week long vacation in Florida. I took ISU shirts (including 2 Cyclone Fanatic shirts) and a hat along to wear. While at an aquarium in Sarasota a man approached me and asked if I was a Cyclone. I said yes and he told me that he taught Botany at ISU for 8 years in the 80's. He spoke highly of Ames and said he enjoyed his time there.
A few days later, while at Disney World, I got noticed again. A couple in line in front of me asked if I was an ISU fan. I replied yes and they told me their son played for ISU with Fizer and under Eustachy. His name way Kyle Brumm. According to the media guide he only played one season (99-00), appearing in 6 games but it appears to be legit. I asked them if he liked playing for LE and they told me he loved it.
Just thought I would share those two stories.

My brother and I thought Brumm had it in him to become the next Hester. He never developed the strength it takes to sit at the end of the bench.
Re: Noticed in Florida wearing Cyclone gear
I have friends in the Sarasota area, and I too have had great encounters with people while wearing my ISU gear -- including (gasp) from some known Hawk fans. In fact, two years ago in October my buddy and I were waiting to tee off and a guy in a Hawkeye hat came up to us (I was wearing a ISU golf shirt) and wanted to know if we wanted play a round with he and his friend
At the "19th hole" he said he saw my shirt and was homesick. Said he could get the Iowa games on Dish, but missed going to Kinnick in person on game days. For some reason, the ISU-Kansas State game was on the tube at the bar, and we watched it. I think he cheered louder than I did when Freeman was stopped at the goal line.
Great guy.
