Frankly, it's rather absurd to consider Robert Parks to be a villian of ISU sports.

Much of the lack of the lack of FB success stems from decisions made between 1965-1986. During his tenure, ISU was late to the game in getting started in the modern era of college athletics (arms race). What he did bring was not properly planned.

As far as Woody Hayes, I suspect Earl Bruce would have moved on to greener pastures either way.

But not right then. He had three straight 8-win seasons (and some fans STILL wanted him gone), and Ohio State was just about the ONLY job he would have taken.

Unfortunately for ISU fans, it came at a tipping point in the program's history -- right on the verge of being a perennial upper-division team in the toughest conference in the country.

Jamie Pollard !!! ISU has the lowest budget in the Big 12 for wrestling. Cale asked for an increase and Jamie turned him down. That is why Cale Sanderson left. Thank you Jamie.

I would like to add Stanley Reynolds and J.C. Leimbach to your refs list.

Instant replay: when it came out, I said it was just one more way for the refs to screw ISU
    - Touchdown catch against Ne dis-allowed
    - The goal line stand against KU where you couldn't see the ball but non-TD call was overturned anyway
    - Calling the tight end down in the bowl game against TCU when it was just his hand on the ground
    - Interception at MU a few years ago that was dis-allowed because the ref blew his whistle
    - The onside kick against aTm last year

Some of the Big XII policies...
Unbelievable...I think I said that for 3 hours after the game. Just unbelievable.

    Re: ISU Sports Villains

When I heard it from one huge wrestling supporter that Pollard would not put more money into the wrestling program I took it as just frustration talking. Then I hear it from another prominent supporter, then I begin to wonder. When I hear it from a third big supporter of wrestling then it makes me think there must be some substance to the info. These people who I visited with are not just your average joes, these are ISU national champions that are very close to the program.

Probably not the lowest budget since half the freaking conference doesn't even field teams. As for the increase, the AD got a $500k cut in support from the university, AD officials are taking furloughs, scholarship costs are rising, and the economy makes it impossible to raise ticket prices. No programs are getting increases in funding right now. Everyone is tightening their belts.
