    Volleyball: Cyclones achieve first top-10 national ranking | DesMoinesRegister.com | The Des Moines Register

    Christy Johnson-Lynch's program continues to make breakthroughs.... granted there isn't a lot of interest or chatter about volleyball on here, but wake up fellow Clonies, there is a national powerhouse materializing right before our eyes in Ames...
    I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.     Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

    ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

    Absolutely. I'm guilty as anyone at overlooking the woman's sports, but we definately have more to cheer for besides just FB and MBB in Ames. Hopefully we can keep Christy (and BF as well) happy at ISU for a long time.

    Just and FYI... if you are in town tailgating for the Army game, the ladies play at 2 pm that day vs. perennially decent K-State (ranked 26th in the latest poll). I think there will be a huge crowd for the v-ball game considering it is family weekend and a ton of tailgaters around.
    My girlfriend and I are friends with coaches Christy and Joe... and from what I gather, they really like Ames and the ISU community. They just started a family, and if she can build a tradition and get strong fan support (similar to what BF did with WBB), I have a feeling they will stay for a long time. They compete against national powerhouses in the Big12 and have great recruiting ties in Wisconsin, Neb., and Iowa.
