Oh holy crap. That stadium looks like hell.

Wow, that shot of Jack Trice is really something else. The amount of... nothing there is unbelievable. I can't believe that was 25 years ago! It looks so different now.
True and Valiant
I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Re: Jack Trice in 1984
The K-State game was an absolute disaster to sit through. Cold and a drizzle/sleet combo for most of the game. Ended in a 7-7 tie when a late FG (I believe by KSU) went over the upright and was called no good.
As for the stadium shot, that entire area where the practice fields are now was general public parking -- for $3, IIRC -- and note the grass on the east side where S6-S7-S8 now sit. That eastern grass area was there until at least 1997, because I remember the band using that space as a gameday rehearsal site in '96.

Re: Jack Trice in 1984
Great pics as always. Man has the stadium changed. What was the building north of the stadium used for then?

That was (and maybe still is) called the Olsen Building but I remember a lot of people called it the I Building because it was shaped like an I. Locker rooms and football offices and the athletic directors offices were there. Sports information was in the southeast corner. Football head coaches office was in the very NorthEast corner and the AD was in the Northwest corner office.
Locker rooms and trainers rooms and weight rooms are all still in there.

Interesting that the turf showed up with a 120 yard "I" across the center of it.
Asteroids are nature's way of asking "How's that space program going?" -
Re: Jack Trice in 1984
thanks for posting those Wesley.....
seeing Jack Trice like that says to me "lets build a stadium to replace Clyde Williams field as cheaply as possible and don't put any thought into it." That really show what a gentle slope the stands are off the field.
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. Could someone post an updated pic of JTS for us oldtimers to compare?

Awesome pics Wesley.
Love the picture of Jack back in the day.
It'll be interesting to see what the Jack looks like 25 years from now...

It was definately there in 1996 b/c that is the same field we would hold some walk throughs after games.
