Ok, same question.

Your argument might relevant if he was asking for the Iowa City Press Citizen to have ISU articles in it. But he didn't - his argument is that the 2nd or 3rd largest paper in the state (depending on where it ranks against the QC Times) decides to leave a complete segment of their demographic uncovered.
And if you think I'm ********, I'm not. I've grown up with the QC Times and their Hawk coverage my entire life. The sad thing is I think even the Times covers the Cyclones better than the Gazette does.
Re: Well, that's one way to torque off Iowa State fans...
OHHH the humanity.
Cedar Rapids is 30 miles from Iowa City. The Hawkeyes are undefeated and rated No. 4 in the BCS poll. How dare the Gazette run, not one, but two cover articles on them.
The only logical reason for this would be that they hate the Cyclones. :chatterbox:

another issue i have is the home of the cyclones AM1600......"The Home of the Cyclones and Panthers" and on monday for their 5 minute sports report the first 4 minutes were about the hawkeyes and owe the Clones and Panthers played as well. That is bad!!!
I stopped listening to 1600 on a regular basis last season. For that national title game one of the hosts there said he was cheering against Florida because of Mac and the things he had done to "his hawks." I was done at that point.

And I am agreeing with you, but noting that there is at least a spot.
Re: Well, that's one way to torque off Iowa State fans...
I was in Dubuque this weekend, and was anxious to see how far back they buried the ISU win.
Much to my surprise, it was right there on the front page of the sports section. Probably as big or bigger headline font, and a color pic of Jesse.
Usually it's Hawks, hawks, hawks... big Badgers article... and "oh yeah, ISU played somebody..."
BTW - why do people continue to feed the troll in the room?

You don't have to be a dick. It's a legit *****. It's not too much to ask for a little coverage for the Clones (or Panthers for that matter) from a newspaper which serves one of the largest population centers in the state that thousands of ISU/UNI grads call home.
That said, you'll never get the ISU coverage you want from the CRG so you should talk with your wallet. I got fed up with the Husker/Hawk coverage in the SC Urinal and quit paying for it.

Agree, if everyone would ignore it maybe it would take a long walk off a short peer.....

I am shocked you heard anything on KWWL. Total hawk station as well. Rick Coleman- huge suckeye.

Dont know if this was the right word. Met him in AZ for the Insight, guy must sit on multiple phone books to be as tall as Steele. He's just a widdle guy.....
At least he isnt John Cambell or Scott Sevelle (sp) from KCRG. I dont think those guys have climbed out from under the desk in Iowa City yet.

Right.......that is exactly comparable. Let's see......ISU is in Ames, Iowa is in Iowa City.......the Tribune is in Ames.......the Gazette is in Cedar Rapids......yup......exactly the same thing. To compare...will the Register have anything on Iowa's injury situation? That would be closer to an actual fair comparison.

Actually Dubuque can be almost as bad. It just so happens that dubuque native Josh lenz is working out a pretty good season for a true freshman. Otherwise they can tend to bury our articles too.
Re: Well, that's one way to torque off Iowa State fans...
Well, not printing anything about Iowa State is one way to turn off a huge segment of your readership. There is a rather large base of Iowa State alumni and fans in the CR area (hello, Rockwell). We don't subscribe to the Gazette and probably never will.
Yes, Iowa's success is a huge story right now, and rightfully so, but it's just bad journalism to completely ignore a portion of your readers. Maybe tomorrow they'll have a front-page, above-the-fold story about Iowa State. Doubtful, but it could happen.
