Harvest usually requires a whole family effort, thus many people stay home.
I know that this kept family and friends of mine away on Saturday.
Ever wonder why attendance always dips in November every year, no matter how ISU is playing? It isn't that hard to figure out.
Farmers are in the field and not in the stands. +1

Re: Andy Garman
Is Andy Garmen the sports guy at KCCI? I had no idea he even had a radio show...one thing is for sure, KCCI is the most pro hawk channel of all 3 in DSM.

He just read my email!!!
Wish he would have read my first.

Re: Andy Garman
Did he have anything to say about Iowa basketball today?

Re: Andy Garman
Why, if every team has a small percentage of "idiot" fans, does he feel the need to bring up Iowa State's? He has never brought up the hawks. Same with Jon Miller. Just pisses me off.

Last year we were #48 in average attendance and we were 2-10. We were clearly not a top 50 team. I say Iowa State gets pretty good attendance compared to team performance.
Check out 2008 attendance stats to see how we stack up: http://web1.ncaa.org/web_files/stats...dance/2008.pdf
FYI: This year, by my calculations, we were just over 46,000/game So couldn't it be said that from a 2-10 season to a 6 win season attendance has declined?
The floods must have given more farmers free time.

Re: Andy Garman
And now with Paul Clark on, the first question is "why do some ISU fans care more about Iowa losing than Iowa State winning".

The floods must have given more farmers free time. In case you haven't noticed...there is a pretty big recession going on. I think that has a lot to do with the decline from last year.

Re: Andy Garman
Garman is hawk. Round Guy is a hawk. Cotlar is a Mizzou grad. It's an awful show and they do a better job at embarrassing themselves then talking sports. Garman has a whiny, annoying voice and it sounds awful over the air waves. Round Guy sits around and stuffs his fat face while trying to crack a joke every now and then and Cotlar is gearing up for his "unbearable" season now that Drake basketball has started.
KCCI sports sucks. Out of Bounds sucks. Garman sucks.

Some on here make you feel terrible about missing a games, but there are good reasons for not being there.

Lets think about the % of the IOWA's work force that relies on not just farming but the agricultureal sector?!?!?!?....Add to it the late fall and, yes, you are going to see a number of fans not able to make the game.
