ISU Gymnasts Climb to No. 13 in National Rankings
AMES, Iowa—The Iowa State gymnastics team continued its season-long trend of moving up the national rankings each week, as the Cyclones advanced one spot to No. 13 this week.
After being tabbed No. 23 to start the campaign, Iowa State has been ranked 21st, 17th, 14th and now 13th.
Regular-season NCAA gymnastics rankings are determined based on averaging team scores tabulated from the entire campaign.
The Cyclones have two gymnasts nationally ranked on events. Sophomore Michelle Browning is 24th in the all-around with an average score of 39.062. Senior Ashley Kent is tied for 14th on the balance beam, averaging a score of 9.831.

They looked really good on Friday. 18 of 24 performances beat their season averages. At this rate, they will be in the hunt to advance from Regionals to Nationals. In the last few years, they have gotten stronger as the season went on. If that happens this year, we will be in great shape.
