CBS Announcers

I watch a lot of basketball, most of it ESPN. Really like the ESPN guys. These CBS guys sound like the 8th string announcers that get assigned to the Div. II football games. Ian Eagle is the worst. They try so hard to manufacture excitement. Can't wait until it is just Dick Enberg and Jim Nantz.

The best CBS announcers are Raftery and Bilas. And they are ESPN guys on loan.


The worst part is that Kellogg is the #1 color guy with Nance. I think he is terrible.

Fortunately we'll probably get ESPN for the tourney, so you'll get your wish on announcers, and id bet itll be much easier to watch multiple games at once (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU).

Unfortunately, it will probably also come with an expansion to 96 and ruin the best 4 days of sports we have every year. Yippee

Gus Johnson is the greatest play by play guy in all of sports. No one can make a mediocre game sound exciting like he can.

I can't stand Raftery usually, but he had a good one the other day... "There's lingerie on the deck after the blow by"...my roommate and I could not stop laughing.

I respectfully disagree. I find ESPN broadcasts very dull. I compare it to watching NBA games. I can't stand Brent Musberger, and Bobby Knight is just kinda so-so.

Most of the other guys on ESPN sound like they have marbles in their mouth, except for Bilas.

The only good that can come from ESPN getting the tournament is the ability to see more games without purchasing a package, but I'm sure they'll find a way to squeeze more money out of this thing.

I actually dont mind the CBS crew. Patrick and Vitale are the worst in basketball on ESPN.

Gus Johnson is the best PBP guy on the planet.

Gus Johnson is good, and he does his own thing, but I think too many announcers are trying to copy his schtick and assume that the louder you talk, the better annoucer you are.

Kellogg is terrible.

I actually think the CBS guys do a good job...once you get beyond the first 2 or 3 ESPN crews, the quality really drops off badly...plus no Dicky V.
