Does JP Need DSM Sportstalk radio

In my opinion, JP holding a grudge against almost all of the sports talk radio personalities in DSM is not a good thing. Ever since the letter we haven't really heard a thing from JP. With season ticket renewals being due tomorrow, I really think he needs to fan the flames and get the fire burning more.

I think it might of harmed some fringe fans the comments he made in the letter (basketball letter), and pushed them over the edge of not purchasing tickets. I might be wrong, but why chance it. In years past we have had alot of push for season tickets and renewals, and not much except the Each One, Bring One this year.

I would love to see more of a push... Coaches on the radio, adds on the radio, AD department people on radio. Anything.

JP might be a smart man but he is brain-dead in thinking he can win a battle against sports talk radio. You are correct, he needs to bury the hatchet and get his butt on as many shows as possible.

I really don't see an issue with his response to that email. If you don't give money then turn around and try to use that email to knock JP who really is the bad guy here? I'd just go on record saying I stand by my comments and if this guy wants to discuss his issues then he better be ready to do more than an email and not donating a dime to the cause.

Right . . . he needs to bury the hatchet right between their beady little eyes. He is absolutely correct in ignoring those low life bomb throwing gas bags. They need him and ISU a lot more than he needs them. Besides, they are pro Iowa all the way.

Except for Marty. JP is supposed to be interviewed on the air with him in the next few days.

I don't think all sports talk is pro Iowa Madclone.. How come Matt is hated by Hawks.

Suprised Marty gets the interview and not Murph and Andy.

Both fanbases hate Perrault, which means he's doing his job. I'm kind of surprised Marty got him too, but I do believe that he has been on Murph and Andy before, so maybe thats why.

He needs them. He needs them not to hate him. He has put himself where he is with them. When he first came he was on the radio after every little thing. Now you cannot get a sound bite from him. Granted he was on wayyyy too much before but he went from that to never being on. If someone questions him he puts them on the bad list and then doenst do them anyh favors. I am starting to think JP's time in Ames is coming to an end.

Marty slams him more then anyone it seems... Murph and Andy are so down the middle it's almost sad.

Guess what, he has won so far. He has done a lot for this AD without any of those guys helping him. When they do what they do(take an email completely out of context and NO Matt Perrault has not gotten back to me on how he managed to make that email something so different than what it actually said) he does not need to acknowledge them.

I would bet he goes on all these shows over the summer when there isn't anyone talking about ISU. When it gets slow it seems like he likes to get ISU back in the news.

First it seems you imply that what the DSM sports talk radio has any effect on JP and what he does. I really have no problem with him not making time for them. Itd just give them something to twist and make it sound a lot worse or negative in any light.
