$ !.50 ?? I remember nickel, dime, and quarter draws through my four years (squeezed into six-lol). But I was like the .001 of students who didn't really drink so that didn't do me much good! (and yes I walked uphill both ways to class

Walking on campus during the spring time. Especially during VISHA when the whole campus would be out on the lawn during a warm sunny day. Freaking perfection.

Nothin like $2 mug refills at People's starting around 3 on Friday. Waking up at midnight with a random shacker, realizing there was still night left... no better start to a weekend.

Great thread. I miss it all. Best time of my life. Yes, I am married with two kids. First one just graduated from the other big U in Iowa yesterday.

By far tomato beers before early(noonish MBB games). Passing up the coeds during the FB games. Grand Daddys was the happening place near DTown and Thumb's Up in campus town.

Someone else said spring time, oh yeah. We would try to throw water balloons near the girls to see if this would make them get up and look around when they were sun bathing with their top unhooked.

    Agree 100%.

I also miss walking on campus. Never missing a home FB or BB game. And living in a house with my brother, his gf, and my cousin. Good times.

I miss grabbing a bunch of guys and heading over to the rec to play basketball or volleyball. Or getting the same group to all head out to the bar.

I do not miss being broke all the time, having to stress about tests, being broke all the time, living in a crappy basement apartment, being broke all the time, driving a crappy car, being broke all the time, etc. It is nice now to just go get whatever you want, go to the store and buy the beer you want instead of what is cheap, etc.

I loved it when myself or one of my friends would declare a Friday a "snow day." It generally trickled down to a good amount of people and that entailed going to Fareway to get some meat to grill, then onto the keg shop for whatever crap fire sale beer they had. This all added up to just a great time hanging out and prepartying for a great night out.

I also remember doing a lot of "power hours", "century club", "case races", "keg races", and "edward 40 hands" drinking it all in crappy basements.

Cheese Steak Hoagies from DaVinci's. Extra meat, extra cheese, with the cheese cooked into the meat. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Cheese Steak.

Also, saving your last $1.50 when you're drinking in campustown, so that you could swing by Qwik Trip, buy a loaf of bread and stop at Lake Luverne to give the ducks a midnight snack.

Picking up a takeout order of Chinese from that place out by HyVee on West Lincoln Way.

Tailgating at JTS back when the team was SO bad that the administration allowed you to bring booze into the game with you, just so long as you didn't bring any glass bottles. I had a buddy who rigged up a "Southwest Iowa Bota", which was a plastic gallon milk jug filled with "jungle juice" that had a piece of baling twine tied around the handle to carry it over your shoulder.

I dont think id want to 'live' in that life again, but short vacations to it are fun.
