Re: Big 12 Commish cancel news conference
My thoughts:
1. I hope that when it all washes out, ISU is in a major conference
2. I'll cheer on the Cyclones regardless of conference.

Re: Big 12 Commish cancel news conference
I don't think people will quit cheering for ISU, but I think they'll care a lot less. I think season ticket sales will plummet drastically, and I think University enrollment will fall off a little bit.

I'll be honest, i'll cheer for ISU, but i'll probably add another (or just a, i guess) major team to cheer for. Lets face it, its a lot less fun to be a fan of a lower tier team. Less opportunities at good bowl games, less opportunities for tourney appearances, less possibility for upsetting a real national power, etc.

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience. -

My general interest level in college football as a whole will drop considerably if ISU is not part of an AQ conference, rather than cheering for another team, because really, I don't have another team to cheer for besides Iowa, and that's not happening.
I guess I could close my eyes, chuck a dart at a map of the US, and cheer for the closest BCS school to where my dart lands.

. Id tend to agree with this.
Though my biggest problem with iowa tends to be a lot of their fanbase. If a lot of ISU fans started being Iowa fans.. their fanbase might become a bit more tolerable thanks to the former ISU fans there.
Ive always been a bigger college than a pro fan, but maybe i'll just start going to pro games instead of college.. that might be a better option than going to Lincoln or IC.

Rhoads will be lured away much easier, and there's no way Christy Johnson will stay here as VB coach.
We will become more of a stepping stone than we ever were before...

I agree with this totally. I actually grew up a fan of both schools, and didn't hate Iowa until I had really experienced the arrogance of their fan base up close and personal. From constantly slamming Ames, the University, and acting like Iowa State was this second class institution, it just made me nauseous. It's one thing to rip a team I cheer for, it's another thing to degrade an entire community that meant/means a lot to me. People like that are the biggest reason I can't bring myself to cheer for Iowa anymore.

We will become more of a stepping stone than we ever were before... CJL was one of the first i thought of as we know she's had offers. No way she turns those down if we're not a major conference. She's aiming for national titles, and that gets a heck of a lot harder if she's not in a top tier conference.

UNI has had a solid Top 25 (and for a long time Top 16) program and they play the MVC.
