    Sports Talk Radio

Ok, so after about a week each of Marty and Cotlar & Garmen you realize how pathetic sports talk radio in Iowa is.... Wow these people have to be some of the least creative sports talk hosts in the nation!! Very, very bad!! In my opinion!

Nationally, I give the Herd an edge, although after awhile his stuff gets old... But my national beef if with Jim Rome, that voice and the way he goes about his business it surprises me people listen to him!

But lastly, the reason I started this thread was to give props to Jay Mohr, filling in for Rome... He has been great the last two days!!!

    Any opinions on these guys??

Cowherd is an idiot IMO after what he said about Joey Votto. I will never listen to him.

I listen to the DP Show & Rome. I enjoy both. In the afternoons I will listen to Murph & Andy.

You've only listed local individuals from the #2 sport talk radio station in DM. Was that on purpose?

Is 1460 really #1? I honestly don't know but I hope you're right! 1700 has always had my ears simply because of espn guys like the herd and van pelt..... But the fact that I have to hear bozos like Marty, Cotlar, and Andy is really pushing me away!

Yes KXNO is #1. For the most part I enjoy the local shows on KXNO.
Miller and Deace in the morning is particularly good. I recommend it.

One of my cotlar pet peeves is that commercial where he is talking about "sports talk radio not being brain surgery, which is good because neither Andy and I are able to perform that". Such lame lame lame stuff.. Anybody else cringe at that commercial?

YESSSS, I wanted to start a thread just about that commercial! It is the worst thing I have ever heard. What the h were they thinking when they wrote that. It sounds like Cotlar can barley read the way he says it as well. Cotlar annoys the crap out of me.....so cheesey.

I completely agree. And Scott Van Pelt is entertaining from time to time as well, especially if you enjoy all of their different accents.
