Brackins in summer league so far
I thought I'd check to see how CB is doing, and it's not so good. Yes, he had 10 pts and 10 reb his last game, but he went 4-19 or something like that?
He's shooting 38% from the field over the 4 or 5 games they've played. He's averaging 10 ppg and 4 rpg. He is shooting better from 3 pt range than he is from 2 pt range. And he took nine 3's his last game.
Kinda sounds like the Brackins I expected to see in the NBA I guess? I wish him well, but at 6'10", I'm sure the Hornets were hoping to see a bit more from him on the interior? However, if they looked at his highlights from ISU, they would have realized they wouldn't be getting an interior guy.
He's basically another Robert Horry IMO. Not bad, but not great either.

Horry was great when it mattered the most. The dude hit daggers. Hope Brackins can do that.

Not all 6'10" and up players in the NBA are only low post type players.

I am a huge Brackins fan and want him to do really well, but he better start shooting it better. He is over 40% on 3's though. That's good.

Re: Brackins in summer league so far
Frankly, summer league play looks sloppy for all. It looks almost like street ball compared to the NBA. Not sure there is a direct correlation for the shooting from summer league to NBA team.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Brackins in summer league so far
I think the Hornets want him playing outside on the offensive end. If he can consistently knock-down the 3, then he'll draw the big men outside and clear the lane for Chris Paul and the others. I'm sure they'll want him to play down low some, but I think his outside shooting is a plus for them.
Oh, and I think Craig would be elated to have a career like Robert Horry. Horry was in the league for a long time, and that's a very difficult thing to do. I mean, look at Fizer. He washed out in just a few years. If Craig can stay in the league for 10 years, he'll be set for life financially (as long as he's smart with his money, which he certainly seems like he would be).

He's basically another Robert Horry IMO. Not bad, but not great either. Good lord, are you serious,he has played 5 games, got hurt in one of them. Give him a chance. Plus, his upside, and the reason he was picked in the 1st round was because he can shoot from outside, I am guessing the Hornets aren't writing him off at this point. He has a chance to have a nice career.

I never argued as such to begin with.

You strike me as the kind of person that would give up on your team after falling down 7-0 in the first quarter of a football game or 2-0 in the first inning in a baseball game. Seriously, give him time.

Re: Brackins in summer league so far
I've watched pretty much all the Hornets games this summer and thought he looked pretty good for a 21st pick. Its hurt him that Darren Collison got hurt early (or left the team for whatever reason) because he's a legit NBA PG and would make the game a lot easier than the scoring PG they are currently using.

Re: Brackins in summer league so far
Granted I only watched part of a game, but it doesn't seem like people are playing with the team in mind
