The "Bush Push" Notre Dame-USC game has to be thrown into the discussion, as well. Amazing finish.
That being said, I'm throwing in my vote for best game that I've seen on television or in person being the USC-Texas game for the 'Ship.
Small-time: Iowa State-UNI a few years back, with the missed field goal by UNI was pretty intense, as well. Sad to say that it came against a I-AA team, but nonetheless, a pretty awesome game.
I was thinking of the 2005 USC vs. Notre Dame game as well.
Colorado went 10-2 that year (1971) and finished 3rd in the Nation, the only 2 losses coming to the #1 and #2 teams in the Country Nebraska and Oklahoma.
And, Iowa State went 8-4 having only lost to the #1, #2, #3 ranked teams (AP poll) and to #11 LSU. Iowa State was ranked #17 (UPI poll) at the end of the season. I'd have to do some research to see if there was ever any other ISU team that finished the whole season having only lost to teams finally ranked #11 and higher.
Yeah because it was more exciting than watching Maurice Clarett run down a Miami player who intercepted a pass and steal the ball away from him. Yeah it's more exciting than 2 overtimes. Everyone's long term memory sucks around here, I haven't watched a NC more intense than that in my entire life...
'03 OSU-Miami!!! Texas-USC was good, but not OSU-Miami sitting on the edge of your seat about to soil yourself good.
