Re: student ticket sales
I feel the need to hop on a plane with my face paint and red/gold *** kicking shoes, and kick some butts all the way down Lincoln and Beach right to the ticket office...
Since I can't do that, IcSyU or Al_4_State get on it for me. IcSyU, get "Francine" to help you
With that convient "Put it on my U-Bill" option, money isn't a factor for the vast majority of students working off of student loans

Psychlone99 raises a good point. I had a student who didn't care buy me tickets my first year out of college.

Re: student ticket sales
I wonder if all of this talk about our "monster" schedule has made some people give up hope or something. I know it is a lame excuse, but I am just grasping at straws as to why ticket sales are weak.

:) Part of this mindset is why Iowa State almost ended up in the MWC, people being cheap towards Iowa State Athletics. Disappointing, but I guess I shouldn't go there during these times, but realistically, people do the same during best of times.

BINGO. This is what they are all doing.

My guess for the biggest hurdle to student sales - cost. Most students would rather spend their money on their daily pop, coffee, and junk food. i walked by them too. gave cy a high-five. then went immediately into the MU. Where they promptly told me they weren't selling tickets anywhere inside the building. They looked at me like i was an idiot and told me to go to the ticket office.

I blame this more on the ticket prices than the students...the pricing scheme seems messed up to me.

Re: student ticket sales
I'm a student and bought regular season tickets. Or at least the $175 ones. Does that entitle me to extra coupons?!?!?

True but I think it was like $50 or $75 when I was in school and that was the cheapest ticket in the house...Something also to be said for the $7,000 tuition being paid and the future potential support of making lifelong fans out of the current students too..

and as a student i haven't seen much advertisement for "student" tickets...maybe an email during the summer but no reminding email or anything for new students...nothing really around campus...they need to send an email to every student like right now... Yeah, that's just stupid. Major dropping of the ball. How hard would it be to send out a mass email with a link to buy the tickets and charge to U-Bill? I'd be doing that at LEAST once a week through August.
